Who should submit data?

We welcome data from organizations such as:

Watershed groups
Conservation Districts
Schools and Academic Institutions
Water Authorities
Other nonprofits

What happens to your data?

When you submit data through 3RQ, it is securely received and stored by the West Virginia Water Research Institute and displayed on our 3RQ Mapping Tool.

Your data may be:

Organized and managed within the 3RQ data system
Displayed on the 3RQ Mapping Tool to support visualization and public understanding
Used to support watershed monitoring, research, education, and community science initiatives
Shared with other organizations or researchers with your approval

How to submit data

3RQ accepts all types of water quality and quantity data. There are no limits or restrictions on the parameters you may include. All data submitted MUST include date and time of sample collection, latitude, longitude, site name, and units for each parameter. Please download and follow the template below.

To submit data, simply click the button below. This will take you to a google form, where you will answer a few questions about your data and upload the data file.

Submit Data

If you'd like to submit non-water quality/quantity data, such as macroinvertebrate or fish data, please reach out to us to arrange for it to be displayed on our 3RQ Mapping Tool.

Need extra help?

3RQ can connect partner organizations with students who may be available to assist with data-related needs. Student support can include water quality monitoring, GIS mapping, environmental assessment, and data analysis. To learn more, visit the Common Waters website to explore past projects and learn more about the program.
